The Jim Henson Company and Plastic Meatball Sign New Licensing Deal to Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Farscape

Fans of the Groundbreaking Sci-Fi Series will Soon Have Access to a Wide
Assortment of New and Exciting Collectibles and Merchandise


LOS ANGELES, March 19, 2024 – The Jim Henson Company, established leader in family entertainment, and Plastic Meatball, authorities in the retro-nostalgic collectibles space, have once again joined forces to develop an exciting cross-category collection of merchandise based on the fan-favorite sci-fi series, Farscape, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year..

Plastic Meatball’s deal encompasses a wide swath of consumer products categories, including toys & collectibles, games & puzzles, apparel, housewares, limited-edition artwork and more.    

“It’s a real thrill to curate such an expansive array of merchandise for such an impactful and seminal series as Farscape,” said Mark Morse, President of Plastic Meatball.  “The passionate fan base of ‘Scapers’ has just continued to grow over the last quarter century since the series’ debut, and we’re committed to designing a catalog of products that will not only be true to the spirit of the show but will also be deserving of a prominent place in their collections.”

To whet the appetites of fans eager for merch from the new collection, a limited “timed” edition 25th Anniversary T-shirt will be available exclusively on Plastic Meatball’s website ( for one week only beginning on the official anniversary of the show - March 19th - at 9 AM PDT.  Orders will be accepted until midnight on March 25th, and then the shirt will be retired and never offered again.  The shirt features artwork of the main cast, a new 25th Anniversary logo, and a quote from the series’ hero, John Crichton.

Farscape follows astronaut John Crichton who, during an experimental space mission, is hurled across a thousand galaxies to an alien world.  In his quest to return to Earth, he finds himself aboard a starship populated by escaping political prisoners from a variety of alien cultures.  Crichton must rise to the challenge of surviving in a world he barely understands, keeping one step ahead of the pursuing Peacekeepers, a race of deadly mercenaries who will stop at nothing to capture him.

 Fusing live-action, digital effects, and state-of-the-art puppetry and prosthetics from Jim Henson's Creature Shop, Farscape has been hailed by TV Guide as one of the 25 Best Cult TV Shows.  Emmy®-nominated and winner of two Saturn Awards, Farscape, created by Rockne S. O'Bannon, was the first original series to air on SYFY. 

Plastic Meatball’s initial collection of Farscape merchandise will make its debut in Q4 of this year (although there may be a few surprises for fans prior to that!), with additional items and line extensions coming in future seasons.  Products will initially be available on the company’s website,, with retail distribution expected to follow.
